URGENT: Hero urgently needs help

A medically complex case has been brought to our attention: Hero is in Katerini and urgently needs a safe place and support with his ongoing veterinary care. He is a very affectionate, people-oriented cat who loves attention. The recommended tests cannot currently be funded. Who can help Hero?

At a glance

• Age: possibly a senior; exact age unknown
• Neutered: yes
• Findings: FIV-positive · FeLV-negative · Bartonella treated · one diseased eye surgically removed in August 2026
• Current: lesions at the back of both sides of the mouth/throat; CT scan and fine-needle aspiration recommended but currently unaffordable
• Bloodwork: reported as unremarkable on 29 October 2026, including white blood cell count
• Treatment: a course of tablets reduced the bleeding; the medication name was not provided. Royal Canin Gastrointestinal is prescribed as his sole food.
• Vaccinations and microchip: not yet done
• Transmission: FIV does not infect humans; between cats it is transmitted mainly through bite wounds. Bartonella was treated; his current status should be confirmed by his veterinarian.
