ANIMAL HOPE GREECE is looking for reliable people, organisations and businesses to support us with accompanying animals, transport, accommodation and responsible adoption. Every offer of help is personally assessed and fully coordinated in advance — the animals’ safety, the required documents and a legally compliant process always come first.
Who and what we are looking for
- Flight volunteers (airport helpers): People already travelling on a suitable route from Thessaloniki who accompany an already adopted, fully prepared animal on the flight. This includes the handovers agreed in advance at the departure and destination airports.
- Travel volunteers: People who accompany an already adopted animal for part or all of a journey they have already planned — by car, motorhome, train or ferry. The route, handover and responsibilities are agreed beforehand.
- Volunteer drivers: Short local trips arranged in advance, for example to the vet, handover point or airport.
- Responsible, legally compliant animal transport: Experienced providers with a clear route, appropriate care for animals, confirmed insurance, temperature management and an emergency plan.
- Foster homes & adoptive families: Suitable temporary accommodation and safe, permanent homes. Every enquiry is assessed individually.
- Responsible animal welfare organisations: Organisations able to take over animals from Greece in accordance with the law, place them in suitable foster homes and arrange responsible adoptions.
- Vets, veterinary clinics, dog trainers & specialists: Support also for shy, injured or particularly vulnerable animals — with treatment, preparation and gentle resocialisation.
- Businesses, airlines & sponsors: Suitable travel crates, confirmed animal transport places or direct payment of agreed, documented transport costs.
Looking for new cooperation partners
We are continuously expanding our network and welcome new cooperation partners from Greece, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Switzerland — in animal welfare, adoption, transport and veterinary care.
An enquiry does not automatically make someone a partner. We assess working methods, required authorisations, responsibilities and animal care. Names and logos are published only after express mutual agreement. ANIMAL HOPE GREECE is currently a private animal welfare project with a foster care facility, not a registered animal welfare organisation or a licensed shelter.
How we assess a potential cooperation
- verifiable identity and designated contacts
- experience, working methods and, where appropriate, references
- animal welfare standards and legally compliant documents and transport
- clear responsibilities, transparent costs and reliable communication
- the protection, health and long-term welfare of the animal as a shared priority

For an initial enquiry, we only need your role (for example flight volunteer, travel volunteer, transporter, foster home or organisation), a possible route, date or period, and your contact details. Please do not send identity document copies or booking codes at this stage. Visits, deliveries and handovers take place only by express arrangement.
