PIERIA · GREECE
Hope for animals in Greece.
ANIMAL HOPE GREECE is already helping as a private foster care facility in Pieria — with a clear focus on dogs in need.
Give an animal a home or help locally
Adoption: You welcome an animal into your family permanently. Every animal is placed with a carefully selected adoptive family.
In-kind animal sponsorship: You support an animal locally with food or other agreed donations of supplies — ideally regularly and long-term. You may support several animals, and each animal may have several sponsors.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR HELPERS
Together, we bring animals safely home.
We are looking for responsible adoptive families, reliable flight volunteers (airport helpers) on journeys already planned from Thessaloniki, experienced animal transporters and trustworthy cooperation partners.
Every offer of help is personally assessed and fully coordinated in advance. The animals’ safety, the required documents and legally compliant transport always come first.
We regularly look for flight and travel volunteers. If you would like to accompany an adopted animal on a journey you are already planning, please get in touch with your planned route and travel date.
CATS ARE LOOKING FOR HOMES TOO
Mia and Luzi have found a home!
Mia and Luzi have been adopted! The two cats will travel to Leipzig, where they have found a wonderful, loving home. We are so happy for them.
Help begins locally
Our work focuses on dogs in need — especially puppies, adult dogs and animals in urgent need. At the same time, within our means, we also offer help to cats, horses, donkeys, mules, ponies, goats, sheep, chickens, small animals, birds and other animals.
Provide care
Food, water, care and help for the animals we look after locally.
Build protection
Veterinary care, safe temporary accommodation and reliable procedures are part of the help we provide today.
Make a future possible
We support responsible adoptions and prepare them legally and organisationally together with the responsible municipality, vets and suitable transport partners.
Private foster care — organisation in development
ANIMAL HOPE GREECE is currently a private animal welfare project with a foster care facility. In specific cases, we work with the municipality of Pydna-Kolindros, based in Aiginio, and with vets. After clarifying responsibility, we temporarily take in dogs that are found or surrendered to us, care for them and, where needed, prepare them for a suitable home through gentle resocialisation. The legal form and registration of a future independent organisation are still being clarified.
Our animals get a voice of their own
Every animal receives an honest description using information that has already been verified. If a photograph, breed or mix, shoulder height or chest circumference is still missing, we clearly mark it “to follow” or “not yet known” and add the information later — without guessing.
We do not sell animals.
We do not sell animals. Our animals are placed exclusively through responsible adoption. The adoption itself is not carried out in exchange for a purchase price.
However, an individual adoption contribution towards documented costs may apply. This contribution is intended solely to cover, in full or in part, actual and traceable expenses connected with the individual animal – for example veterinary care, vaccinations, microchipping, an EU pet passport, required travel preparation and, where applicable, transport costs.
The amount therefore depends on the actual costs associated with the individual animal and is communicated transparently and agreed with the adoptive family before the adoption.
This contribution is not a purchase price for the animal and does not include any profit margin. Our aim is responsible placement in a suitable permanent home, not the sale of animals.
