Help that is possible today.
ANIMAL HOPE GREECE currently provides help as a private animal welfare project with a foster care facility. We accept support only in ways that genuinely benefit the animals and can be organised transparently.
Give an animal a home or help locally
Adoption: You welcome an animal into your family permanently. Every animal is placed with a carefully selected adoptive family.
In-kind animal sponsorship: You support an animal locally with food or other agreed donations of supplies — ideally regularly and long-term. You may support several animals, and each animal may have several sponsors.
Currently possible: in-kind help by arrangement
We are not yet accepting monetary donations. Food and other urgently needed supplies can be provided by prior arrangement. Please do not send or bring anything without notice. For specific veterinary expenses, direct payment to the relevant service provider may be arranged.
What can help right now
Food
We accept suitable dog or cat food and other animal feed currently needed only after a brief discussion of the type, requirements and handover arrangements.
Warmth in winter
Clean, dry and easily washable blankets or suitable bedding can be very valuable in winter. Please also discuss these with us beforehand.
Other donations of supplies
Equipment can also be useful. To avoid items going unused or transport and storage becoming a problem, we explain the specific needs in advance.
Please do not send or bring anything without notice. There is currently no publicly listed collection point. We always agree personally on needs, quantities and handover first.
Help with your time, a journey or a home
Adoptive families
We are looking for people who want to offer an animal a safe, loving and permanent home. Every enquiry and prospective home is carefully assessed.
Flight volunteers (airport helpers)
If you are already planning a suitable journey from Thessaloniki, you may be able to accompany an animal that has already been adopted. This includes the handovers agreed beforehand at the airport and on arrival. Every flight is prepared in terms of both legal requirements and logistics.
Transport volunteers
We are looking for reliable, experienced support for agreed trips to the vet, handover point or airport, as well as for legally compliant animal transport.
Cooperation partners
We welcome responsible animal welfare initiatives, foster homes, adoption partners and other reliable partners who work transparently and put animal welfare first.
Adoption or sponsorship
An honest and transparent approach to costs
We do not sell animals. With all our hearts, we help street animals and animals in need find loving, permanent families — for a fresh start and a better life. Every adoption enquiry and prospective home is carefully assessed so that the animal joins a suitable family safely and permanently. As a private project close to our hearts, we do and contribute what we can, but cannot fully finance every necessary veterinary preparation and journey ourselves. We therefore agree honestly and transparently in advance on the adoptive family’s contribution towards actual, documented costs. This contribution is neither a purchase price nor a flat-rate adoption fee and includes no profit margin. Wherever possible, payment is made directly to the service providers involved; costs already covered by another party are not charged.
Become an animal sponsor
If you cannot take an animal into your home, you can express your interest in sponsoring a particular animal. One person may support several animals, and an animal may be supported by several sponsors.
Only individually agreed in-kind sponsorships or a non-binding expression of interest are currently possible. Financial sponsorships will begin only when the account holder, payment methods, use of funds and accounting are clearly established legally and organisationally.
Important: Sponsorship does not replace adoption and grants no ownership or decision-making rights over the animal. It helps share the responsibility for care and support. The animal’s needs remain decisive.
If monetary donations become possible later
Whether and when monetary donations or paid sponsorships will be offered remains open. Before any introduction, we will clearly publish who receives payments, how they are used, how support can be ended and how we report on the use of funds.
